As a Visual Communications Specialist at Pivotal, I worked in between the Communications and Brand/Marketing teams in order to design and distribute beautiful, meaningful work. This role was equal parts strategic, aesthetic, and collaborative; I worked across departments in order to ensure the brand was communicated authentically across internal and external channels.

Meaningful Stories

Focused on storytelling and highlighting the great people in the company, I quickly connected with the People team and became their designated comms designer. In this role, I did equal parts communication design and communication strategy. Visually, I developed logos for each of the Diversity and Inclusion initiatives, shot, filmed, and produced D&I videos, and helped strategize, write, edit, and package content for the 2018 Diversity and Inclusion Annual Report, the 2018 Diversity and Inclusion blog, and the brand new Pivotal Rise HBCU program. Strategically, I played a key role in integrating D&I into the larger employee communications experience. I partnered with D&I to create custom email and intranet banners for Pride, Black History Month, and Women’s History Month and I added D&I stories as feature segments in our company All Hands.
