GreenGrov was designed to address the common frustration that beginner gardeners face: an overwhelming amount of information that makes starting a garden seem daunting. The challenge was designing an app that made gardening accessible, fun, and aligned with sustainable practices. I began by conducting user research, including surveys and interviews with novice gardeners, to identify pain points and understand their needs. This helped me clarify what would make gardening feel less intimidating and more approachable.
Solution
I took a user-centered design approach to create an intuitive app that guided users through the gardening process. The app included personalized gardening tips, progress tracking, and features that measured the user’s environmental impact. By incorporating data from users’ gardens and local climates, the app provided relevant, actionable insights. I designed the interface to be visually engaging yet easy to navigate, ensuring it catered to both novice gardeners and those passionate about sustainability. I iterated based on user feedback, fine-tuning the experience for maximum accessibility and enjoyment.
