  • Problem

The “Passing the Baton” event required a design solution that communicated both the seriousness of a peaceful political transition and the hope for a united future. The challenge was to create an identity that felt formal and dignified, yet also conveyed the inclusivity and optimism that the event stood for. I worked closely with event organizers to ensure I understood the delicate balance required to reflect both the political context and the desired tone.

    Solution

I developed a visual system that incorporated elements of Washington, D.C.’s iconic landmarks, symbolizing both national unity and the peaceful transition of power. The design used elegant typography and a modern color palette to convey a sense of authority and hope. I created scalable materials that could be used across both digital and physical platforms, ensuring consistency and adaptability. The final designs effectively communicated the essence of the event, engaging attendees and stakeholders alike.

    Key moments

    • Set the Tone Through Story: Worked closely with stakeholders to define a visual narrative that honored legacy while celebrating fresh leadership.
    • Designed a Brand System That Felt Both Historic and Hopeful: Developed a visual identity that balanced tradition with forward momentum, using elegant typography, meaningful symbols, and a warm, dignified palette.
    • Brought the Event to Life Across Every Touchpoint: Created event collateral, digital assets, and presentation materials that unified the experience and left a lasting emotional impact.
